The Magical Underwater World of the Oceans Captured by Anuar Patjane Floriuk
Anuar Patjane Floriuk is a 34 years old social anthropologist and photographer born and raised in Mexico. He photographs underwater world with the thought to motivate us to have more respect for marine life.
By sharing the beauty of our oceans we might start to care more and build or strengthen the connection between us and the sea.
With his diving knowledge and excellent photography work, Anuar produces the amazing photos of sharks, whales, stingrays and dolphins. He creates underwater images around the world, but his series of photos named Underwater Realm Project won the Geographic Traveler 2015 Photography Contest.
The Fascination with Sea Life
Anuar Patjane Floriuk dives since he was 17, but the interesting thing is that his first time was in the cold Norwegian sea. At this time he experienced an incredible new world and for this reason, the fascination with sea life became his work. In one interview he described some exciting underwater events. He was diving and heard whales singing which made his body vibrates and waves. The experience was inspiring for the photographer and for making interesting pictures of the sea creatures.
Black and White Photography
The photographer takes mostly black and white photos. Anuar’s aesthetic has a deeper meaning, it shows us emotions and feelings: “I have never seen a color photograph that can have such an impact on me,” he says. As an experienced diver, Anuar focuses on his work and calmly plays with shadows and light under the sea. His awarded series of photos – Underwater Realm Project represents artistic black and white images of underwater animals shooted near the Mexican coast. The photographer’s winning photo – the Whale Whisperers – represents the whale and her baby swimming towards the diving team. In this way, Anuar documented the unique scene shown it with the artistic note.
